No, it does not need to be chilled and I leave it in balls. Great recipe, great cookie. With a medium cookie scoop, I found I had to cook these for 12 minutes.
Otherwise they were raw dough inside. They tasted just okay. Next time will try with all butter…just afraid that will lead to them being not as soft when fully cooled.
